Uniqlo's return to Downtown San Francisco offers hope for struggling mid-market district

FARGO — A 19th-century house that Cass County plans to demolish for a parking lot is being sold by a couple so they can afford a second adoption, the owner of the home said. Andrew Young said he and his husband, Jeremy, listed the house at 203 Eight St. S. after deciding they wanted to add to their family. The couple adopted their daughter, Mari Mae, shortly after she was born Dec. 4, 2022. Selling this home is one mechanism that would allow us to have the adoption conversation, Andrew Young said. The two-story home that was built in 1898 is listed for $396,500 on real estate websites. The Cass County Commission unanimously voted Monday, Oct. 5, to make an offer of $375,000 on the house. The county plans to demolish the house if their bid is chosen. The house is adjacent to a Cass County Courthouse parking lot, so the county plans to use the property to expand that lot by 17 to 18 parking spaces.
